My Favorite Tips!
I have an HP 95LX Palmtop Computer and I love it! I recently got a subscription to your HP Palmtop Paper and have enjoyed much of it. I like best the tips you give to creatively use the built-in 95LX software. The most helpful items for me so far have been:
- 1. Ed Keefe's article (page 25, Fall 91 issue) that told about how to use Lotus to extract the first ten letters from a memo file.
- 2. Tom Page's mention (page 29, Fall 91 issue) that you needed to press (CTRL) to activate Copy and Paste in 1-2-3 (and HP CALC).
- 3. Ed Greenberg's Quick Tip (page 23, Jan/Feb 92 issue) on how to use the PHONE as a free-form database.
- 4. The tip (page 23, Jan/Feb 92 issue) on how to switch between PHONE lists using macros.
- 5. Alfred Herz's letter hint (page 2, Mar/Apr 92 issue) that you can use GOTO instead of FIND to locate records in Phone.
- 6. Answer to Ahmet G. Ozisik's letter (page 3 of the July/August issue) describing how to do a hard reboot without losing files.
- 7. The tip about creating a macro to delete one MEMO line.
I would like to see even more tips on how to use the built-in programs, how to print labels using PHONE, etc.. I particularly like User Profiles because they also give me ideas on how to make the most of what I've got. The Basic Tips section is a little too simple and seems a rehash of the User's Guide.
Again, thanks so much for putting out the HP Palmtop Paper. It has been helpful.
